Our History
Stonebridge Fireplaces is a family run business with over 75 years combined experience in the fireplace and heating industry. Based in the heart of the UK our Nottingham showroom offers unique displays ranging from solid fuel/gas and electric stoves/ gas/electric fires, fireplaces, and boilers for all types of houses.
With over 100 displays we have plenty of designs to give you inspiration for your own project, but should you not see the exact design you are looking for many of our products can be customised to give that unique focal point to any room.
Our showroom is based in the heart of the Nottingham area on Daleside Road (Main road running from the City to Netherfield).
Our showroom contains around 100 fires, fireplaces and stoves from the cutting-edge contemporary to the time honoured traditional.
We offer a complete installation service with either a Gas Safe Registered engineer or a HETAS installer for solid fuel, but should you already have an installer or engineer lined up we can supply just the goods that you are looking for.
When you choose an appliance, you are not only investing in that product but the company who supplied it, therefore we think it is only right that you understand the company and its history.
Below is a brief history of the roots of Stonebridge Fireplaces and where we have originated from.
- 1977 - Tom Deane began his career in the industry as an apprentice with British Gas.
- 1994 - Tom Deane leaves British Gas and opens a small shop called Direct Fire Surrounds in Carlton, Nottingham. Day to day running is left to Jayne his wife whilst Tom undertakes the fireplace and boiler installations.
- 2002 - Growing demand led to a new showroom being opened in Colwick, Nottingham and Ilkeston, Derbyshire which saw the introduction of HETAS Installer, Jon Stafford to the team.
- 2004 - Glynn Ordoyno joins the fireplace and boiler installation team.
- 2007 - Stonebridge became recognised as Boiler Installation Specialist.
- 2012 - After detailed preparation both our showroom and staff are officially HETAS accredited.
- 2014 - The old Colwick showroom relocated around the corner onto the main Daleside Road into a new purpose-built showroom, showcasing the most up-to-date stoves, gas/electric fires, fireplaces and boilers on live display.
- 2015 - Scott Cutforth joined the fireplace and boiler installation team.
- 2015 - Apprentice, Paul Doherty began his training with Stonebridge and at a local college.
- 2017 - Paul Doherty completes his apprenticeship and becomes a Gas Safe Registered Installer with Stonebridge.
- 2017 - Glynn & Scott became W.A.I Gold Scheme approved for the installation of boilers (Worcester-Bosch Accredited Installers) This enables extended guarantees to be offered.
